Revisitor Retreat

A psychedelic retreat for returning participants

This retreat is for those who have already taken part in an Essence retreat and feel a natural pull to return, not to repeat the experience, but to deepen it.
The Revisitor Retreat offers a slower, more spacious field in which earlier insights can settle, mature, and unfold. Rather than opening something new, we work with what is already present, allowing layers of meaning, embodiment, and understanding to reveal themselves over time.
Through psilocybin ceremony, silence, contemplative inquiry, gentle movement, and shared presence, we create the conditions for integration in its deepest sense: not as something you do, but as something that happens when there is enough space.
This retreat invites:

  • further embodiment of previous experiences
  • a deepening of trust and inner orientation
  • greater subtlety in perception and feeling
  • a relaxed intimacy with what is

There is less emphasis on explanation, and more on listening. Less guidance, and more inner authority. The group field is shaped by shared familiarity with the work, allowing for a quiet depth that cannot be rushed or replicated.
The Revisitor Retreat is not about going further.
It is about arriving more fully where you already are.
An invitation to stay, listen, and let life integrate itself.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Revisitor Retreat

How is the Revisitor Retreat different from the Core Retreat?

The Core Retreat focuses on careful introduction and structure. The Revisitor Retreat offers more slowness, silence, and inner authority. There is less explanation and guidance, and more space for what is already present to deepen and integrate.

Is psilocybin used again during this retreat?

Yes, psilocybin ceremony is part of the retreat, held within a spacious and contemplative context. The intention is not to open something new, but to allow earlier experiences to settle, mature, and unfold.

What does “integration” mean in this retreat?

Integration here is not a task or method. It is understood as something that happens naturally when there is enough space, safety, and presence. The retreat supports integration through silence, shared presence, gentle inquiry, and time.

How much guidance can I expect during the retreat?

There is less external guidance than in the Core Retreat. Facilitators hold the space attentively, while participants are invited to trust their own inner orientation and rhythm.

Who is this retreat not intended for?

This retreat is not suitable for first-time participants, or for those seeking peak experiences, explanations, or specific outcomes. As always, medical and psychological suitability is discussed during the intake process.

What dosage will we receive during the retreat?

Can you tell me more about the program?

The retreat follows a structured three-day format:

  • Day 1: Arrival, welcome, intention setting
  • Day 2: Morning practice, bodywork, breakfast, psilocybin ceremony, dinner
  • Day 3: Morning practice, integration work, departure

Along the way you’ll have yoga, meditation, breathwork and guided integration support.

What kind of psychedelics do you give? How does it work?

We use psilocybin truffles (legal in the Netherlands), which contain the psychoactive compound psilocybin. In a safe environment, these truffles support deep emotional, psychological, and spiritual exploration under professional guidance.

Do you still have a place available in the upcoming retreat next week?

Availability changes frequently. The best way to check is to visit the Upcoming Retreats page or contact our team directly through the Contact page.

What happens in the integration afterwards?

Integration begins on Day 3 with guided reflection and continues with materials and suggestions you can use for weeks or months after the retreat. They provide guidance to help you apply insights from your experience into daily life.

How far is the venue from the airport?

The main venue (Centre Venwoude) is located in the Netherlands, between Amsterdam and Utrecht. Exact travel times depend on your arrival airport and transport choice.

My friend also wants to join this retreat, is that possible?

Yes. Anyone in good physical and mental health can apply, and many participants attend with friends or partners.

I want to ask you something, can we have a quick call?

Yes, you can reach out via our contact form or email to schedule a short call. We are happy to answer your questions personally.

When is the next breathwork session?

Breathwork sessions are part of the retreat schedule (e.g., on Day 2 Morning), and details are shared upon booking and in your program outline.

Psilocybin truffles have less physical impact than ayahuasca, with less nausea and a shorter experience and recovery time.

How long will it take?

The standard group retreat at Essence is a 3-day program.

Can I join while I am depressed?

We require participants to be in stable physical and mental health. During our intake process we assess whether the retreat is safe and suitable for you. Our retreats are not a replacement for medical or psychological treatment.

Are there more people with depression or burn out?

Participants come with different life experiences and intentions. We carefully screen everyone to create a safe and supportive group dynamic.

How big is the group?

We work with small groups to ensure personal attention and safety. This allows us to maintain a high facilitator-to-participant ratio.

Is one retreat enough?

For many people, one retreat is deeply transformative. Others choose to return later to deepen their process. It depends on your personal journey and intentions.
